
A man from Marion is facing serious charges after a shooting incident last week.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old James Lee McKinney Jr. was arrested in connection with a shooting that happened Friday, March 13. He is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
Authorities say the victim, 28-year-old Austin Revis of Marion, is in stable condition and receiving treatment for his injuries.
Investigators had earlier asked the public for help locating McKinney through a social media post, but the sheriff’s office reported he was taken into custody within about an hour.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains ongoing.
