Mitchell High School Future Business Leaders of America competed in the state leadership conference last week. 3,125 students across the state competed in business, leadership, and career-readiness skills through objective testing, presentation and role-play events, and chapter events. Out of the 21 MHS competitors, 12 made it to the final round, 4 received top-ten recognition on-stage, and 3 placed 1st place!
The Baptists on Mission: Building Mountaineers community service project focused on supporting recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene in Mitchell County. Partnering with Baptists on Mission at the newly-opened rebuild center, FBLA members provided humanitarian aid through volunteer labor, creation of a digital storytelling website, development of an inventory system for rebuilding supplies, and donation drives to assist families still struggling after the storm. This team will go on to compete at the national competition in San Antonio, Texas this summer.
