Karen Lynn Bowman Buchanan, age 71, of Staggerweed Road in Bakersville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Ray and Constance Willis Bowman.
Karen dedicated many years to her career as a Lab Technician at Coats American before retiring. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a fondness for jewelry. Above all, Karen cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her former spouse, Jeff Silver of Burnsville, North Carolina; her two sons, Dustin and Nathan Silver; her sister, Cathy Rogers (Jim) of Marion, North Carolina; her brothers, Roger Garrett Bowman and John (Cathy) Bowman, both of Bakersville, North Carolina, and Curt (Freda) Bowman of Marion, North Carolina; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:00PM at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery, with Reverend Mark McKinney officiating.
