Grandfather Mountain, the not-for-profit nature park run by the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation, has released its Mindfulness and Well-being Series for 2026.
The Mindfulness and Well-being series provides guests with an opportunity to focus on being present in the moment through forest bathing, yoga and more — deepening their connection with nature and community and enjoying the many gifts nature has to offer.
“After a stellar turnout last year, we are excited to continue the Mindfulness and Well-being Series this season,” said John Caveny, vice president of conservation and education for the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation. “Mindfulness encompasses so many practices, and we look forward to learning a lot from these highly skilled instructors.”
Each session in this series is limited to 24 or fewer participants, so they are expected to fill up quickly.
Workshops include:
Yoga on the Mountain: Grounded and Grateful
June 20 | 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
June 20 | 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This course is taught by Shannon Burbridge, an experienced movement instructor and educator with more than 37 years of experience in the fitness and wellness field. This session aims to immerse participants in a full day of yoga and grounding techniques to help them ground deeper into themselves and the nature around them. Along with a warmup flow, peaceful hike and longer, more in-depth yoga practice, the group will gain a basic understanding of foot reflexology, spinal connection, self-myofascial techniques and grounding rituals to connect to the natural world.
This event costs $40 for general admission and $34 for members of Grandfather Mountain’s Bridge Club – plus tax. Tickets for this event are on sale online now.
