Jacquline Stevens Stockton

Jacquline Stevens Stockton, aged 90, of Bad Creek Road in the Buladean Community, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Mitchell County, North Carolina, Jacquline was the cherished daughter of the late Jess and Clarrissa Hoilman Stevens.

Throughout her life, Jacquline was a devoted homemaker who took great joy in caring for her family and preparing meals with love. She found happiness in tending her vegetable and flower gardens and preserved the fruits of her labor through canning, reflecting her dedication and hard work.

Jacquline was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, John Wesley “Jay” Stockton, and their son, Danny Lee Stockton.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, John Douglas Stockton of Bakersville; her grandchildren, John Christopher Stockton (Christie), Brandy Stockton English (Chad), Rebecca Rae Woody (Adam) of Bakersville, and Carrie Lynn McCann (Steven) of Loganville, Georgia; as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Krista Marie Stockton, Ayden Wyatt Woody, Gracie LeAnne English, Mayce Rae Woody of Bakersville, and Noah Matthew McCann, Dannie Caroline McCann, and Abbott Steven McCann of Loganville, Georgia.

At Jacquline’s request, a private graveside service will be held with her immediate family. In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice and Home Care of the Blue Ridge. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice team for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness during her final days.
