Barbara Jane Hensley, age 87, of Burnsville, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation in Mars Hill. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Bacchus Selwyn Hensley and Clela Ball Hensley.
Barbara was a retired educator who worked in the Yancey County school system.
At the family’s request, all services being held are private.
