Yancey County School Resource Officers recently attended the 2026 North Carolina Association of School Resource Officers (NCASRO) Training Conference at Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel in Cherokee, North Carolina.
The annual conference provides School Resource Officers from across the state with valuable training, resources, and opportunities to strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to serve and protect students, staff, and schools.
Thanks to a generous donation from Standing T.A.L.L., YCSO was able to send five School Resource Officers to this year’s conference.
“We are extremely grateful to Standing T.A.L.L. for their continued support of our Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Shane Hilliard. “Their generosity has provided our SROs with valuable training opportunities that enhance their ability to serve and support the students and schools of Yancey County.”
The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to Standing T.A.L.L. for investing in our School Resource Officers and helping us continue our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for the students of Yancey County.
