Theresa McCoy Macking age 80 of Burnsville, NC passed away Thurs, Oct 6, 2022 at the Brian Center after a short battle with cancer.
Born on Aug 4, 1942, in Manhattan NY, she was the daughter of the late Helen Barrow McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Hill and Joan Fucci and brother Donald McCoy and her husband Daniel Macking who passed away Nov of 2021.
Theresa was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Burnsville and was loved by many for her spunky sense of humor. She enjoyed doing puzzles and painting the numerous figurines her son bought her for the yard. She loved spending time with family and friends playing games.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Donald Macking and daughter Diane Gellman and her grandkids Rebeka Wren, Sarah Haven, Thomas Robinson, and adopted grandson Evan Buchanan and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mitchell County Animal Shelter, Spruce Pines or Brother Wolf Dog Rescue, Ashville.
A dinner to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held on Saturday July 22, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the Western Sizzlin Steak House in Spruce Pine. Please RSVP to Donald Macking either on facebook or by phone at (828)284-3009
