The search continues for a Madison County man who has been missing since Saturday afternoon. 64 year old Philip Shelton apparently parked his Ford Explorer at a pull-off along the French Broad River. Ron Linville, a friend of Shelton, found the vehicle around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Shelton’s dog was found running loose near his car and friends found his canoe along the shoreline.
Madison County Manager Rod Honeycutt said drones were flown Saturday and Sunday in a search. Yesterday afternoon a swift boat team went to the river with a crew from Buncombe County and Asheville Fire Department. That search is continuing today.
