Joseph Charles Williams, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Joe and Tootsy Williams.
Charles was known for his love of classic cars, country music and TV westerns. He inspired many throughout his admirable journey with Multiple Sclerosis. His unshakeable positive attitude and endearing sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his children: Charlene (Eddie) Nygren, Gary (Angela) Williams, Brad (Jenni) Williams; siblings, Paula (Junior) Peterson and Ken (Jan) Sturm; grandchildren: DJ, Aaliyah, Michael, Asya, Ashton, and baby girl due in June; and one great-grandchild, Jalen.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 28th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. The Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in the Grover Hunter Cemetery in Burnsville.
The family will gather Monday, February 27th, at the home of Gary and Angela Williams, 386 Gibbs Road, Burnsville, NC 28714. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org/donate in memory of this great man.
