Ruth Corum Willis, age 76, of the Ledger Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
A native of McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Smith Wallace and Valarie Bryson Corum. She was also preceded in death by brother, Wayne Corum; brothers-in-law: James Williams, Bruce Norman and David Buchanan and a sister-in-law, Mary Sue Buchanan.
Ruth was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. She worked for 53 years for Story, Hunter and Evans Law Firm in Marion. She was a professional lady who was always helping others and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband of 52 years, Ted Willis; son, Jason Willis and wife, Brandi, of Bakersville; grandchildren: Annabelle and Emmeline; sister, Karen Williams of Marion; brother-in-law, Tommy Willis and wife, Reva, of Bakersville; and sisters-in-law: Betty Norman of Bakersville and Debbie Corum of Ellenboro, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday March 25, 2023 at Snow Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Pallbearers will be: Dean Hoilman, Morris Burleson, Jerry Pitman, Josh Johnson, Billy Blevins and Dale Shook.
