Franklin Wayne Bennett, age 75, of Tipton Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Harl and Nora Peterson Bennett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gail Bennett who passed away in 2019 and a brother, Kenneth Bennett. Frank was an avid giver to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and supported the Wounded Warriors and the NC Sheriffs Association Programs. He enjoyed ginseng hunting, being outdoors, deer hunting and catching bass in the North Toe River.
Surviving is his son, Rodney Bennett and wife, Lori, of Green Mountain; step-grandchild, Jared Pittman of Chapel Hill; brother, Lee Bennett and wife, Ann, of Erwin, TN along with three other brothers and their families.
A private service where he will be laid to rest with his wife will be held at a later date.
