On March 25th, MY Life Center – Family & Pregnancy Services held an open house event to showcase its new name and logo as well as the impact it has on the community. The event was a huge success, with many local citizens attending to learn more about the organization and all it has to offer.
MY Life Center is a non-profit organization that has served the Mitchell and Yancey community for nearly 30 years offering compassionate support and love to anyone facing an unexpected pregnancy or wishing to prepare for childbirth and/or improve their parenting skills through the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ. These services include: Free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, options planning, parenting classes, community resource referrals and physical goods such as diapers and strollers.
At the open house, attendees enjoyed delicious food provided by Pig and Grits, face painting, and games for the kids. They were also given a tour of the facility and were able to meet with staff members and volunteers. Many attendees were impressed by the depth and breadth of the services provided by MY Life Center.

MY Life Center’s new executive director, Leah Johnson, honored founders Mike and Mary Higgins and spoke about the history of the Center and its mission to empower families to lead fulfilling lives. Their dedicated support team and certified nurses are available to support clients whether they’re new to parenthood, considering all of their pregnancy options, or just needing support in life’s journey. Overall, the open house was a triumph, and many attendees left feeling inspired by the work being done.
