Winter has past. White and pink blossoms have fallen, replaced by bright green leaves, and the Orchard at Altapass opens a new season this coming week on Saturday, May 13, at 10 am. Music returns on June 4, heyrides on the 10th, apples two months later. Take a walk through the fields and enjoy the sunshine. Stop in at the General Store for some signature Orchard wear, delicious jams and jellies, succulent brined veggies, local artist displays, and of course, hot apple pie and ice cream—all regionally sourced. The model train should be stoked and ready for a few rounds. And this year, bring the family and adopt a tiny tree or monarch butterfly on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm.
Help the Orchard continue to “Save The Good Stuff” by supporting our dedicated mission to preserve, protect, and educate.
We’re open Saturday and Sunday only May 13-28 from 10 am to 5 pm; Wednesday-Sunday, June through October 29. 1025 Orchard Road, mile 328.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Spruce Pine.
