Celebrating National Rescue Dog Day, this event brings together shelter dogs up for adoption from Yancey, Mitchell, and Madison counties. Bring your dog dressed as your favorite literary character, in honor of Thomas Wolfe, who visited Burnsville as a witness in a murder trial. Prizes will be provided by Plott Hound Books and Monkey Business Toy Shop. Ron & Minnie Powell and Dylan Wilson will be entertaining onstage. A good time will be had by all.
