This Saturday, July 29th, beat the heat and unwind on the Town Square from 10 am to 1 pm during Partners Aligned Toward Health (PATH) Sizzlin’ Summer Series hosted by the Mitchell Yancey Substance Abuse Task Force (MYSATF) and the Home Remedies Program.
Run, slide, cool off, and enjoy the bubbles on the inflatable slip and slide! There will also be a separate wading pool for the younger kids who want to splash and play. Take a break and unwind in the shade with a book from the AMY Regional Library Bookmobile.
This event will also feature a Home Remedies program Community Clinic where everyone is welcome to sample free services including therapeutic massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic care. Or you can join in a gentle Tai Chi movement session held throughout the day. It’s an opportunity to meet local providers, learn more about the complementary wellness practices, and try out free services. Plus, you can get information about the Home Remedies’ innovative online program where residents of Mitchell and Yancey Counties can earn vouchers for free local services.
The Community Clinic will feature services from Jade Pierce L.Ac. of Mountain Community Healing Arts, Jennifer Williams L.Ac, D.Ac from Wood Element Acupuncture, John Janeski LMBT, L.Ac. from Mountain Mobile Acupuncture, licensed Tai Chi & Qi Gong instructor Jennie Boyd Bull, Melissa Cope LMBT of Ironwood Arts, and Caitlin Schmitt DC of Mars Hill Chiropractic. Thank you to all these generous providers for supporting community health and wellness with their time and expertise. The Home Remedies program (bit.ly/path-home-remedies) is a free, local program for anyone interested in exploring additional, natural ways to manage pain and stress. The next Home Remedies community clinic will be held on September 23rd in Mitchell County at the TRACTOR Food & Farms.
