Why Political?

Why do people say Yancey County teachers leaving is political? Are they all Democrats since the board is Republicans? If so what has been done to make them leave? The one teacher in the news made a mistake and the board offered her a different position which was at the middle school instead of high school. How is that political? Why are others leaving? Is it because they don’t like it because the teacher didn’t get to keep her job at the high school? What is the board doing that is political? Are they only hiring Republicans? As an outsider looking in, it just doesn’t make any sense to me.
