On Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 Heaven gained another angel when Betty R. Bailey, age 90, of the Cane River Community passed peacefully with family by her side at the Yancey House in Burnsville, NC. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Alden John and Clement Nelson Robertson.
Betty worked for the Yancey County Health Department for many years until retirement. Along with her career, she found joy in the Home Interior and Gifts business. This is where she began sells, recruiting many to the business. Betty had a talent and eye for decorating and flowers. Betty was a strong willed woman with class and sass. She was filled with determination and love that was demonstrated throughout her life. Betty’s life was her church, where she was a life-long member, along with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Bailey; brother, Richard Robertson; sister, Lillian Biggs and her beloved dog, Checkers.
