Stop it! They did not do a 180 or mislead anyone. It was VERY clear at the last meeting at the library that they were going to do some type of restructuring to the board and look at adding a commissioner to the board, and keep the space apolitical.
Maybe next time, if you even attended last month, pay attention. I attended, I paid attention and heard exactly what they said.

It was clear that no political, ethnic, religious, or gender based gatherings will take place. But they are trying to have a “Back to School with Pride” event at Yancey County Library August 31st for “queer and trans youth ages 11-20 and their parents”.
So, sounds to me like a violation of the new agreement between the commissioners and the library. Wonder how that will work out for the library? |
