Harry Eugene Godfrey, age 66, of Burnsville, recently passed away to go home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late Guy Godfrey and Mary Jo Gibson Godfrey. He was also preceded in death by uncles, Samuel Gibson and Roy Jo “Buddy” Gibson; and his Grandma Faye Laveda Gibson.
Harry was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and friend. He enjoyed fast cars and working on them, and he also enjoyed fishing. He was a very friendly person who never met a stranger. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could think his way out of just about anything.
Surviving are his children: Daniel Godfrey, Harry Godfrey Jr. (Abby), Stephanie Godfrey, Samantha Chandler (Joe), and Angela Meadows; brother, Virgil Godfrey; ex-wife and friend, Delilah Godfrey; and Grandchildren: Alexis Honeycutt, Hannah Honeycutt, Armani Phillips, Art Godfrey, Landon Boone, Nathan Cole, Chloe Cole, Jocelyn Cole, Allison Greene, Rachel Blankenship, Rebekah Blankenship, and Story George. Several other family members also survive.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
