Sherman Robinson, age 76, of Micaville, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at The Greens in Spruce Pine.
A native of McDowell County, he was the son of the late Wellington “Willie” and Irene Autrey Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Cleo Robinson and an infant brother.
Sherman was a very hard worker and a wonderful provider. He worked for Parker Lumber Company for a number of years where he ran equipment. He enjoyed working more than anything else, and was even running a track hoe in his sleep at his last moments.
Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Helen Robinson. Several nieces and nephews as well as a host of very close friends and family members also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Perry Norton and Rev. Holt Whitson Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Autrey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
