Goins Located in Tennessee and Arrested

On August 23rd US Marshalls arrested Jeremy Goins in Gatlinburg, TN. He had been wanted by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department since June on felony child abuse. On June 15th, the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from the Mitchell County Department of Social Services, regarding allegations of serious neglect and abuse of an infant child. During the course of the investigation evidence collected by Detectives supported probable cause for the issuance of Felony charges. The infant’s mother, Riley Williams and the father Jeremy Goins were charged with the following: felony neglect child abuse to cause serious physical injury. Williams was arrested at her residence located in Spruce Pine. She is currently being held in McDowell County jail under a $40,000.00 secured bond. Goins fled the state of North Carolina, requiring the assistance of the US Marshall Service. When US Marshalls located Goins in Tennessee, he waived extradition and was transported to Mitchell County for the outstanding felony process and failure to appear in Mitchell County Court. He is currently being held in McDowell County jail under a $55,000.00 secured bond.
