Anna Ballew Robinson, age 88, of Seven Mile Ridge, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21st, 2023.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Roxie McMahan Ballew. She was also preceded in death by her husband, JC Robinson, who passed away in 2022; brothers: Kent, Calvin and Jack Ballew; brothers-in-law: Charles Bartlett, along with Charles, Guy, and Worley Robinson; and sisters-in-law: Louise Robinson, Lillie, Irene and Joyce Ballew, along with Loraine Johnson, Maude Whitson and Madge Harding.
Anna was a lifelong member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher who loved singing, and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Quartet. She loved working in her garden, mowing her yard, and working in her flowers. She will always be remembered as a kind soul who loved her kids, grandkids, church family and community. She will be greatly missed by anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
She is survived by her children: Shelia Gregory (Larry Young), Keith Robinson (Patsy) and Pam Robinson (Bill Dellinger); grandchildren: Jason Gregory, Amanda Ray (Matt Russell), and Shanna Pittman (Wesley); great-grandchildren: Morgan, Roxie, Ellie, Luke, Kainan and Garland; sister, Essie Bartlett, and brothers-in-law: Paul Robinson and Homer Robinson (Jean). Many nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 23rd at Fairview Baptist Church on Seven Mile Ridge. Rev. Scott Hollifield will officiate with a prayer by Rev. Jeff Fox. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the services in the Ballew Cemetery.
