This illegal entry into my property at 3Am in the morning could have gone south .My gated locked property is posted NO TRESPASSING.I was awakened by headlights at my gate which is 150 ft from my residence. When I got up a guy was already up at my residence walking by my garage and the side of my house with a flashlight and had climbed over the gate .My driveway is no right of way. I confronted him and he said he was with French Broad Electric. I tried to call 911 and there is no phone service at my residence-like usual there is none .How did I really know who this person was when I went out-it was dark and the head lights were bright on his vehicle and I could not identify the vehicle .I have heard that there were many breakins in the area .A neighbor had had her husband’s chain saws stolen from her residence .French Broad needs to train their employees about entering property that is not their Right of Way .Don’t climb over locked posted gates-it would be fine to ask permission which they did not. The outage was not on my property .Employees of French Broad should think twice before entering illegally for their own safety .If I had entered their gated property illegally at 3 AM what would they have done to me? It would have been a different story. This should be a learning experience for French Broad employees. This guy should have waited at the gate ,blowed his horn, flashed his lights or hollered so the resident could know who was seeking entry.
