Luckily, we live in a county that is predominantly Republican/Conservative, and holds on to Christian values as much as possible.
The residents of this county voted in the people to the Board of Commissioners that would hold up those values. At the meetings regarding the library, which I attended, I witnessed a bunch of unhinged, screaming, and trouble making people in the audience. At the last meeting an Antifa type individual spoke in the public comment time. My husband and I had the pleasure of sitting near the lady who almost got kicked out for her disrespectful behavior. We had to endure her and her comrades throwing out F bombs every 5 seconds while people were talking on the Board and the public comments. Those are not the type of people I will ever take seriously or listen to their side. If you can’t hold your tongue and be somewhat professional and have some decorum and common decency in a public meeting, it’s a shameful existence you live.
I’m thankful the commissioners are trying their best to be fair, but also keep to the values the people who voted for them want. I don’t want to live in Asheville or San Francisco, that’s why I don’t. No matter how hard people, which are the minority in this county, try to change Burnsville into Asheville… you will fail. Is any place perfect, nope… but this place is a little slice of Heaven on Earth, quit trying to turn it into Hell!!
