Leave it to the librarian? That’s the whole problem! We want a TOTALLY neutral library. No religion, no holidays, no celebratory months. NOTHING. There are all kinds of books in the library that can be offensive to different groups be it LGBTQ books or trashy sex books or even some philosophy books. Everybody likes different things and everybody is offended by something. No one is saying to burn those books. Repeat no one is saying to burn those books. What we are saying is don’t make huge displays out of them because you are offending some of your customers. (ie you are shoving it down their throats where they and their children have to see it). Leave people to seek out what they want to read unless you have an agenda. If done correctly it is quite simple and really should not be a problem for anyone.
