On Tuesday towns and cities across the state held their elections.
In Bakersville Alan Blevins and Charles Nash were elected to the two Town Council seats. Nash received 21 votes and Blevins had 17. Write in Candidate Shane Buchanan received 16 votes.
In Spruce Pine Phillip Hise and Lynn Hollar were on the ballot for the Mayor seat. Hise was elected mayor with 418 votes, Hollar had 155 votes.
For the Spruce Pine Town Council there were 4 running for the 2 seats. Rocky Buchanan and Wayne Peight both received 398 votes. Sharon McIntosh had 154 votes and Kimberly Hageman 148.
In Burnsville Judy Buchanan and Denise Collier ran unopposed and were elected for the two council seats. Buchanan had 88 votes and Collier 77.
