The victim of the shooting incident in McDowell County on November 9th has been identified as 47 year old Jimmy Lee Cool.
Around noon on November 9th, deputies responded to Fairview Rd. in Marion for a disturbance resulting in a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound. An investigation led to 38 year old Jeffery Allen Higgins being the shooter and he was taken into custody. The victim later died from his injuries.
Higgins is being held under no bond. The NC State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the McDowell County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation.
