A house fire tragically claimed the lives of two people in Yancey County.
In a social media post, the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office said the fire broke out in the early morning hours of Sunday, at a home off of Double Island Road.
Killed in the fire were Ronnie Robinson and his son Ronnie Robinson Jr.
The sheriff’s office says while no foul play is suspected, they have requested the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to help determine the cause and origin of the fire.
Sheriff Shane Hilliard expressed deep condolences to the affected families and community members, surrounding this heartbreaking event.
