Don’t you understand there is no one spreader of disinformation. The current practitioners put any historic disinformation on the part of the US government to shame. At least in my lifetime, lots of people who were susceptible and not well informed were indoctrinated or brainwashed if you want to call it that mostly from the right. Today the most effective parts of the disinformation network has been “democratized” so to speak and put on steroids by a relatively few delusional or authoritarian groups and the internet, people not in government and on tech platforms, who want to take government over. Personally, whatever problems I have historically with the way our government works …and I have a lot… pale in comparison to what’s going on with these people and those they are “indoctrinating,” misleading, scamming, “brainwashing,” or whatever else you want to call it.
