Beulah Burleson, age 81, of Amalene Drive in Spruce Pine, the Franklintown community, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home.
Born on January 4, 1942 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Elbridge and Etta Dellinger Buchanan.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Doug Burleson, her grandson, Lance Douglas Lewis, her brothers; Marvin Buchanan, Clinton Buchanan, Lawrence Buchanan and Ted Buchanan; her sisters-in-law; Sandra Buchanan, Martha Buchanan, Grace Buchanan, and Lucille Buchanan and her nephew; Marvin Buchanan, Jr.
Beulah was a member of the Henson Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard and flowers. She became a C.N.A. in her later years before retiring. She loved her family and always enjoyed lots of laughs. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters; Lana Lewis of Micaville and Marinda Burleson of Spruce Pine; her son; Marc Burleson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters; Patsy Bowman and husband Frank and Doris Grindstaff and husband, Gary all of Newland; grandsons; Jeremy Burleson, Caleb Lewis, Kyle Forbes and wife, Jessica, Ryan Forbes and wife, Crystal, and Dylan Forbes and wife, Christina; great granddaughter; Addison Forbes; great grandsons; Silas Forbes, James Forbes and Walker Forbes; her sister-in-law and friend; Marie Buchanan; several nephews and one niece; special friends; Jo Ann McKinney Buchanan, Ronnie Buchanan, and Grady Byrd.
The family would like to extend a ‘Special Thank You’ to Beulah’s beloved grandson and caregiver, Jeremy Burleson, all of the staff of Life Care in Banner Elk and to Terry and Tammy Buchanan for their care of Beulah.
A memorial Service will be on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Henson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Lonnie McClellan officiating.
