Wrestling Results – 12/12/23

Mitchell Wrestling visited Swain Tuesday night and came up just short in their effort to upend the Maroon Devils.

In the middle school match Issac Crone, Brett McClean, Eris Crone, and Dalton McMahan all scored victories for the Mountaineers. JayceeMae Erwin and Katie Stowe also recorded wins for the girls. But the Mountaineers came up just short, falling 42–30 in the boys match and 23-12 in the women’s contest.

In the high school match the Mountaineers were led by pins by DJ Pugh, Yeshua Guardian, and Bryson McFalls. The Mountaineers had opportunities to capitalize in several other matches, but came up just short 45-33. The loss moves the Mountaineers to 6-6 on the season. They will be in competition again this weekend at the Great Smoky Mountain Grapple on Friday night and Saturday at the Harrahs Civic Center in Asheville.
