MITCHELL COUNTY GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY HOURS & CONVENIENCE CENTER HOLIDAY HOURS
BAKERSVILLE – Mitchell County Government announces the following closing schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Mitchell County Government offices will close at noon Friday, December 22, 2023 (convenience centers will remain open on a regular schedule that day). The offices will be closed Monday through Wednesday, December 25, 26, & 27, 2023 for the Christmas holiday and again on Monday, January 1, 2024 for the New Year’s holiday. County offices will be open regular hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on Thursday & Friday, December 28 & 29, 2023, and will resume regular weekly operation on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Mitchell County Sanitation has announced that the convenience centers at Snow Creek and Altapass will be closed Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, only. Both centers will be open on a regular schedule (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) on Monday, January 1, 2024 and will continue with regular hours after that.
However, there is a change for the convenience center mobile unit hours during the holiday. The unit will not be in Little Switzerland on Monday, December 25, 2023 and on Monday January 1, 2024; Glen Ayre on Tuesday, December 26, 2023; and Cane Creek on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. The mobile unit will be on a regular schedule for Estatoe (December 28) and Poplar (December 29). Mobile unit regular operations will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Glen Ayre community and continue for the rest of the week.
