Ricky Lee Silvers, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023.
A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Joyce June Wingfield Silvers. He was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Ricky was an avid sports fan of the Carolina Tarheels, Atlanta Braves and L.A. Rams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the beach. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially eating barbecue, and when he wasn’t doing that, he loved metal detecting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane Robinson Silvers; daughter, Crystal Silvers, and grandson, Dakota Silvers, both of Cane River; sister, Cathy Silvers of Morganton; uncle, Ralph Burleson and wife, Wanda, of Asheville; aunt, Barbara Pittman, of Burnsville; and best friend, Greg “Spike” Bias, of Asheville. He is survived as well by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
