Keith McKinney, age 62, of Phil Buchanan Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his home.
Born on June 29, 1961 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Dana and Eleanor Buck McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Sparks McKinney who passed away in 2010. Also preceding him in death was his sisters; Bobby Jack Brown and Nancy McKinney and his brothers; Sam McKinney, Sr., Larry McKinney and Danny McKinney.
Keith was a graduate of Cloudland High School in Roan Mountain, TN. He played football for the Cloudland Highlanders, he was a star performer and set many of the school’s all-time player stats records. He was retired from Henredon Furniture of Spruce Pine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid University of Tennessee Vols fan.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter; Lacey McKinney of Spruce Pine; his sisters; Ronnie Street, Bennie Hoilman, Judy Sluder, Kathie Powell, Sharon Benningfield and Janice James; and his brother; Gary McKinney.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
