Thank you to whoever responded to my question, only you didn’t really respond. You never said who the new Chamber director is and why it hasn’t been made public. You never answered how to apply for that position. The position is filled now but you say you wish I had applied. I would have applied, as I very well meet the qualifications and would have loved to have been considered but did not see any kind of notification that applications were being taken. Where was this posted/advertised? I don’t know who the new director is, as I have not seen any notification of that either (what’s the big secret?) but I am not only qualified but am a Yancey County native and thus know much more about our county and our businesses than anyone who is not local. The former director was not “from here” and I would guess the new one isn’t either. How can someone come in here and have to learn everything from ground zero and possibly know what’s going on? It’s too late now. Was that possibly a railroad and why?
