Tomorrow is primary election day in North Carolina. Polls will be open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. This primary election includes President of the United States, Congress, Governor and multiple state offices. You must have proper id to vote.
In Mitchell County voters will also choose three from seven county commission candidates on the Republican ticket. The seven candidates include incumbents Harley Masters and Brandon Dean Pitman, Lee Ellis, Clayton Roberts and Dewayne McKinney, Dale Blevins and Loren Grano.
There is also a vote for Mitchell County Board of Education on the Republican Ballot. Votes may pick two names from the three on the ballot that include Chad Greene, Brenda Sparks and Sam Blevins.
There are no local Democratic candidates in this primary so this vote will determine the new county commissioners in Mitchell County.
Mitchell County votes at the Mitchell County Board of Elections office, 11 North Mitchell Avenue in Bakersville or at the Spruce Pine Fire Department, 100 Firefighter Way in Spruce Pine.
Yancey County citizens will vote at the Board of Elections office at 30 East US Hwy 19E, Burnsville.
The North Carolina general election is on Tuesday Nov. 5, 2024.
