Yancey To Receive Funds for Water Treatment Plants and Industrial Site

Yancey County commissioners passed three resolutions in their recent meeting to receive funds from the American Rescue Plan and the State Fiscal Recovery Fund. There will be $8,850,000 for the Pine Swamp wastewater treatment plant, $2,518,950 for the East Yancey water treatment plant and $2,731,230 for the West Burnsville Industrial Site. Commissioners also approved for the Kids Mountain project to move forward even though the original grant was not approved. A new grant application with a 50/50 match will be submitted for the project.
