Betty Sue “Wawa”McFarland, age 78, of the Pine Swamp Community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21st, 2021 at her home.
A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucille Gurley Sparks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Red McFarland; a brother, Phillip Joe Sparks and her special dog, Bengi.
Sue was a loving mother and Wawa who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching game shows, westerns, NASCAR racing, reading, cooking and making Christmas candy.
Left to cherish her memories is her sons: Leonard “Tony” McFalls and wife, Jo, of Pine Swamp, Doug McFalls and wife, Kathy, of Arbuckle and Mike McFarland and wife, Amanda, of Newdale; grandchildren: TJ McFalls, Cody McFalls, Paul McFalls, Damian McFarland and fiancée, Tiana Thomason, Brittany McFarland and Hannah Moore; four great-grandchildren: Brandon McFalls, Aiden McFalls, Wyatt McFalls and Kynli McFarland; half-brother, Jayson Sparks and her special little dog, BJ. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 27th in Youngs Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Buck Thomason officiating.
