Ricky Autrey, age 62, of the South Toe Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Betty Autrey Duncan. Ricky was a member of White Oak Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and hiking. His joy was being outdoors, his family and grandchildren.
Surviving is his daughters: Melinda Mitchell (Brandon) of Burnsville and Jessica Burnette (Justin) of Marion; grandchildren: Tyler, Hannah, Caden, Jordan and Ryleigh; best friends: George and Marie Woody of South Toe and the mother of his girls, Violet Whitson of Marion.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 16th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. Todd Robinson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Monday in the Patton Cemetery.
