Robert “Bob” Yelton, age 77, of Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9th, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Mitchell County he was a son of the late Edwin and Lucy Green Yelton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Forbes and brothers: Floyd and Carlos Yelton.
Robert worked at Unimin for 33 years and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his loving wife, Maxidean Mosley Yelton; daughter, Vicky Sue Peterson and husband, Rick, of Green Mountain; granddaughter, Amanda Johnson and husband, Hunter, of Huntsville, Alabama and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Paige Johnson also of Huntsville, Alabama.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 14th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery on Bad Creek with Rev. GB Garland officiating.
