Elizabeth Ann Banks, age 85, formally of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington, NC. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late George Brantley Thomas and Marie Riddle Thomas. She was also preceded in death by sons: Jerry Banks and Keith Banks; sisters: Dorothy Gibbs and Brenda McCurry; and a brother, Howard Thomas. Elizabeth retired from Baxter Healthcare. She was a caring Christian woman who loved the Lord and was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Chucky, TN. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her family.
Surviving is a sister, Adaleen Briggs, and a brother, Kenneth Thomas (Myrna). Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the Banks Cemetery on Ferguson Hill.
