Thomas Davis, Jr., age 86, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at his home.
A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Thomas Davis, Sr. and Martha Ball Davis. He was also preceded in death by sister, Jean Davis and brothers: Bruce and William Davis.
He was a US Air Force Veteran. Thomas was an auto mechanic and was proud of the Chevrolet racecar #43 he built for Jackie Fox to race at the Asheville Speedway. He enjoyed farming and being a truck driver.
Surviving is his son, Harold Davis and wife, Sandra, of Burnsville; daughters: Laura K. Hughes of Spruce Pine, Donna Hensley and husband, John, of Burnsville and Kathy Davis of Spruce Pine; grandchildren: David (Leigh), Laura, Tommy (Janet), Christal, Patricia, Paul (Pam), Steven (Felicia), Keith, Eric, Robert, Robyn (Justin) and Hannah; great-grandchildren: Josiah, Isiah, Kayla, Ezra and Jonah and a sister, Joyce King of Weaverville. Special friend, Frances Davis and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 5th in the Red Oak Cemetery. Rev. David Davis will officiate. At all other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Laura K. Hughes at 207 Fairground Street, Spruce Pine, NC 28714.
