A fund has been set up at the State Employee Credit Union for the family that was injured in a traffic accident on December 20th. Burnsville resident Josh Watson was killed in the accident near the Yancey/Mitchell line.
The Highway Patrol report said a Jeep was traveling east in the west bound lane when it struck the vehicle driven by 35 year old Joshua Watson head on. His wife Caitlin was seriously injured, suffering a broken thigh bone, fractured vertebra and other injuries that required multiple surgeries. Their two young sons, Kaleb and Matthew received minor injuries.
The driver of the Jeep, Patricia Lynn Zahn of Spruce Pine stated she had gotten confused on which side of the roadway she was on. She has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
Josh Watson was the uncle of seven year old Addy Watson who was killed October 22 in a head-on accident in Madison County. The fund at the State Employee Credit Union is in the name of Amanda Fortner (Addy’s mother) and Caitlin Watson (Josh’s wife) to help with expenses. You can donate at any State Employee Credit Union in the area.
