Andrew Edward Brown, 87, of Burnsville, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on January 5th, 2022. He was preceded in death by his son Fred, brother; Bob Brown, sisters: Pearl Banks, Frieda Bryson and Nancey Holcombe.
Andy will be remembered by many and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Buchanan Brown. He is also survived by daughter; Tammy, Dairen and Luke; son Charley, Denise, Chelsea, Israel and Holt; Karen, Zack and Bailey; son Andy ll, Vickie, Drew, McKenna, Sarah and BJ.
Born on February 26, 1934 to the late Charles and Laura Banks Brown, Andy was a lifelong resident of Yancey County. He was a self-employed business man and owner of Andy’s Inc. and Sam’s Fuel Oil.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He attended Victory Baptist Church. He had a large family that he provided for, cared for and loved. He enjoyed working at his store, tending to his farm and telling tales to all of his friends. He was a man of whit, mischief and comedy while also bestowing holiness, kindness and love to each person that he knew. Andy leaves behind many friends and family and will be greatly missed by all.
The family will have a private burial at West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery and will have a memorial service later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Victory Baptist Church.
