The National Endowment for the Arts has announced its first round of recommended awards for the fiscal year 2022, totaling nearly $33.2 million. Of that amount, $540,000 was awarded to 28 North Carolina grant recipients from arts organizations, universities, theater companies, discipline-specific festivals, and museums. In our area Penland School of Crafts in Bakersville will receive $25,000.
National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chair Ann Eilers said, “These National Endowment for the Arts grants underscore the resilience of our nation’s artists and arts organizations, will support efforts to provide access to the arts, and rebuild the creative economy.”
