Carolyn Edwards Howell, age 69, of Burnsville passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Latt and Bonnie Robinson Edwards. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Harold Gene Edwards and Latt Jr. Edwards; and a sister, Evelyn Woody.
Carolyn was a neat and tidy lady that made sure everything was in order. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Her passion was cooking, gardening and helping others.
Surviving is her loving husband, David Howell, of 26 years; daughter, Kayla Beristain and husband, Juan, of Burnsville; four grandchildren: Gracie, Bella, Juan Carlos and Allie; mother-in-law: Eva Lee Tipton Howell of Burnsville; brothers: Danny Edwards of Pennsylvania, Dennis Edwards and wife, Genevia, of Burnsville, and Ricky Edwards and wife, Marsha, of Virginia; sisters: Gail Tilley of Statesville, Millidean Landon of Burnsville, and Kay Robinson and husband, Ben, of Burnsville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in the Edwards Cemetery on Possum Trot. The Rev. Perry Norton will officiate.
