The filing period for the May primary election reopens today and continues through March 4th. The primary election will determine who will run in the November 8 general election. All registered voters can vote in the May 17 primary election. Voters will choose between candidates on the respective party ballots. If you are registered Unaffiliated you can choose whether you want to vote in the Democrat, Libertarian or Republican primary. All county offices plus NC Senate and House of Representatives, US Senate and House, NC Supreme Court Justice, NC Court of Appeals, Superior and District Court judges and District Attorney are all up for election in 2022. Some districts have changed with the new redistricting maps. If you think your district has changed you can go to the Voter Search on the North Carolina State Board of Elections website.
