Lennie Mae Pitman

Lennie Mae Pitman, age 88, of Pitman Road in Bakersville, the Ledger community, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at her home.

Born on September 5, 1934 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Green and Maggie Davis Pitman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers; Andrew Pitman and wife, Virgie and Weldon Pitman and wife, Nell and her sisters; Mary Sparks and husband, Ceil; Harriett Biddix and husband, Mutt and Lucy Dellinger.

Lennie Mae was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. She loved working in her flowers, cooking for others and buying shoes for her grandchildren and great grandchild.

Left to cherish her memory is her son; Ricky Pitman and wife Debbie of Bakersville; her daughter; Diane Wyatt and husband, Danny of Spruce Pine; her brother; Bill Pittman and wife, Marlene of Bakersville; her grandsons; Mitchell Pitman and Timothy Wyatt; her granddaughter; Kelly Jones and husband, Jordan and her great granddaughter, Lucy James Jones; several nieces and nephews.

A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 10, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev’s Andy Willis and Bruce Cannon officiating. Interment will be in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for their care of Lennie Mae during her illness.
