Angela (Angie) Johnson Hughes Wright passed away at age 50 on Friday, September 30th, 2022 at her home in Elizabethton, Tennessee following a five year battle with cancer. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Born in Crossnore, North Carolina; she was the daughter of late Sam Johnson and Lisa Harrison. She was also preceded in death by her stepson, Bill Wright and stepdaughter, Tammy Buchanan.
Angie loved being a mother and loved her grandchildren more than anything. Especially when she could buy them anything they wanted for Christmas which was her favorite holiday. Apart from always being with her kids, in her free time she found herself gardening and watch hummingbirds as they would fly over her many roses to land on her daily-filled bird feeders. Taking her day back inside, she would kick back and enjoy some music and a cup of coffee. She truly loved music from all genres which made it so much easier for her to connect with her children in ways that no one else could. Meanwhile, every Sunday of the football season would be reserved for her and the Green Bay Packers.
Those she left behind that will never forget her and cherish her beloved memory consist of her life-long love, Sam Wright; her son, Austin Hughes (Ebony); her daughters, Jessica McNeese (Kenny), Sarah Wright (Eric) and Holly Hughes (Thomas) along with five stepchildren; her brothers, Charles and Monuel Johnson; and last but most certainly not least is her ten beautiful grandchildren.
